Kempton Audio's GT12A is a 250W RMS active portable speaker system in 2-way, 12" design with a 1" compression driver and an 80°H x 50°V constant directivity horn. The bi-amplification system of the GT12A consists of two independent Class AB amplifiers. Independent LF and HF overload protection circuits are employed to protect the woofers and HF drivers from failures. The 2-channel onboard mixer (CH A and CH B) features: Preamp Gain, Volume, High Frequency EQ, Low Frequency EQ controls, and XLR/Jack combo inputs. An XLR-M output jack provides mixed signal output of input channels A and B. Custom designed woofers feature high strength curvilnear cones on die cast frames, high temperature resistant voice coils to prevent burnout failures and ferrite magnet structures to produce solid low frequency response. The HF compression drivers provide clean and clear high frequency output and are coupled to an 80°H x 50°V custom designed directivity horn for precise dispersion. The heavy duty crossover networks that divide the signal going to the woofer and compression driver are constructed with oversize coils, high voltage capacitors and power resistors to provide the best possible sound quality and minimize signal loss. The circuitry features an active electronic 24dB/oct Linkwitz-Riley design. The polypropylene enclosure's rugged construction and exterior finish was designed to handle the rigors of the road. An extremely rugged steel grille protects the woofer without detracting from it's sonic performance. Each cabinet is equipped with an ergonomic handle, multiple M10 fly points, rubber feet and stacking positions that are molded into the enclosures allowing you to stack two cabinets safely.
